WILLIAMS SEAMAN was born at Catskill, N. Y., December 23, 1805, and on reaching maturity married, at Buffalo, N. Y., September 5, 1831, Miss Arelisle Crane, who was born at Canton, Mass., August 14, 1811.  The year 1841 witnessed their arrival at Milwaukee, where they made their first settlement.  Subsequently, Mr. Seaman built a sawmill at New Berlin, in the came county (now in Waukesha County).  The mill having been destroyed by fire, they removed to Fond du Lac County, and in 1845 came to Sheboygan, being among the pioneers of this county.  That city was their home until 1866, after which their time was divided between Grand Rapids, Mich., where their daughter resided, and Sheboygan, the home of their son.

    Their family consisted of five children:  Arelisle C., Ellen, Amanda, William H. and Charles, of whom only William H. is living.

    On the 16th of January, 1877, Williams Seaman passed away, and his wife, Arelisle Seaman, died June 26, 1885.  Both were interred in the family burial-place at Sheboygan.
