ANDREW J. VOLLRATH, Vice-President of the J. J. Vollrath Manufacturing Company, is a man well-known in business circles.  He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., January 20, 1850, and when three years of age was brought by his parents to Sheboygan, which has since been his home.  He is the eldest son of Jacob J. Vollrath, whose sketch will be found elsewhere in this work.  In the city schools he received a good education in both English and German.  When twelve years of age he began to learn the moulder's trade in his father's foundry, working at the same for some twelve years, and becoming an expert moulder.  He next learned the enameling business, and for an equal period was a practical workman in that line.  Upon the organization of the above company he was made Vice-President.

    The marriage of Mr. Vollrath and Mrs. Anna M. Liebl was celebrated in the Evergreen City, February 24, 1878.  Five children have been born of this union:  Carl J. J.; Magdalene M.; Walter J. J.; William H., who died in his seventh year; and Andrew J., Jr.

    Politically, Mr. Vollrath is a stanch Republican, taking a warm interest in the success of his party.  He has three times visited Europe, in 1874, 1886 and 1889, the last time attending the Paris Exposition.  During the recent Columbian Exposition at Chicago, Mr. Vollrath has represented his firm, being in charge of their fine exhibit there.
