HENRY C. WANDERSLEBEN, deceased, an early settler of Sheboygan County, was born in Werningshausen, in the province of Gotha, Saxony, Germany, March 14, 1806.  He as married in his native country in 1847, to Caroline Saal, a daughter of Franz Saal.  Mrs. Wandersleben was born in Straussfurth, Saxony, Germany, November 15, 1825.  Two children were born to them in the Old Country, both of whom are dead.

    In 1852, Mr. Wandersleben emigrated to America with his family.  They landed in Canada, but came to Sheboygan, Wis., the same year, and four years later (1856) removed to Plymouth.  Three children were born to them in Sheboygan County, namely:  Charles F.; Henry F. and Lina, the last two named being twins.  The daughter became the wife of H. F. Schmidt, of Plymouth.  The sons are spoken of more fully in a separate sketch found upon another page of this volume.

    Mr. Wandersleben settled in what was then the village of Quit Quios, now Plymouth.  His death occurred November 7, 1881.  His wife survives him and still resides in Plymouth.  Mrs. Wandersleben is a member of the Lutheran Church, as was her husband.
