ROBERT ROSENFELD, merchant of Plymouth, is an early settler of Sheboygan County.  He was born in Germany, January 29, 1829, and is a son of Robert Rosenfeld.  He was reared and educated in his native land, and upon reaching manhood was united in marriage to Bertha Bork.

    In 1853, accompanied by his young wife, Mr. Rosenfeld emigrated to the United States.  Coming direct to Wisconsin, he located in the town of Plymouth, Sheboygan County.  On arriving in Plymouth, Mr. Rosenfeld spent a year in the town, and the engaged in farming for several years.  In 1860 he returned to this place, where he has since been engaged in the grocery business.

    Seven children were born unto Mr. and Mrs. Rosenfeld, as follows:  Martha E., Agnes D., Sophia, Louisa O., Robert I., Otto E. and Emil H., all of whom were natives of Plymouth.  Agnes D. became the wife of Louis J. Kaestner, of Plymouth, of whom see sketch.  Sophia died aged five years.  Louisa O. is the wife of W. T. Mechi, of Portage.  Robert I. was twice married, his first wife being Mary Harmon, after whose death he married Mrs. Julia Pendleton, whose maiden name was Williams.  They also reside in Portage, Wis.  Otto wedded Katie Bauer, and lives at Manistee, Mich.

    Mr. Rosenfeld is a republican in his political views, and in his religious faith is a member of the Lutheran Church, his wife also holding membership with the same church.  Mr. Rosenfeld and wife are among the early settlers of this county, and are esteemed for their true worth among their numerous friends and acquaintances.
